Our Story

Chris and I met in 2011 whilst working at Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham. He was a Restaurant Manager, and I was the Conference & Banqueting Manager. Chris shared my passion for the hospitality industry. We loved providing a gregarious welcome to our customers and forming friendships wherever we went.

As a couple we decided to open a coffee shop where I would bake cakes and serve lunches, and Chris would support me in our new venture.

We opened Miranda’s in 2019 and were quickly welcomed into the Trowbridge community, finding loyal fans who have become regulars in our little coffee shop.

Tragically Chris passed away just a few months later.

With the support of family and friends, I have continued our journey, opening a new venture in the Cotswolds in 2023 affectionately named The Tipsy Egg in tribute to my darling Chris.

Since opening in February we have been overwhelmed with support from the local and wider community and are proud to have a base of fabulous regulars along with visits from people from all over the world too.

The Tipsy Egg is a relaxed and cosy place to meet friends for a coffee or a bite to eat.

We try our very best to source from local producers both in Winchcombe and from all over the Cotswolds. Our coffee has been a big hit alongside our huge range of cakes that are freshly baked daily. Breakfast is particularly popular here, so much so that we now offer it all day long!

Our lunch menu is filled with light bites along with sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a freshly stocked salad bar, you will always be find vegan, veggie, and gluten-free options on the menu and within our selection of cakes.

We also offer catering for private events, bespoke cakes for special occasions, special events, and more.

At The Tipsy Egg, you'll receive great service and be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining. We also stock products from local artisans (including our staff!) which make for wonderful gifts.

I think Chris would be very proud of what we’ve achieved, well I really hope he is x
